Nurse Brennan

I'm Brennan Belliveau! A Registered Nurse originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For years I wondered what a career as a nurse in the USA could look like. During this time, I had every emotion you could imagine, from excitement and curiosity to fear of the unknown and what I might be leaving behind. 

I had worked in a number of settings from pediatric transplant care to forensics psychiatry. I remember asking nurses that I worked with "If you could go back in your career and do one thing different what would you do?" The most common reply to that question was "I wish I would have worked as a nurse in the USA." At that point I knew what I had to do next. And so this journey began...

Shortly after arriving as a travel nurse in the USA, I started this website to share not only my personal experiences, but to also offer a platform for other international nurses and students to share their adventures, advice, and insights to better help our community and support one another in leading successful and fulfilling careers.

Over the last four years I have had an incredible journey in the USA. From working with celebrity nurse, Nurse Blake, in planning and supporting the launch of the NurseCon website and inaugural NurseCon at Sea Cruise, to being a podcast co-host with Simple Nursing founder, Mike Linares, and now helping nurses from all over the world immigrate and work in the USA with Medliant International Healthcare Staffing. The opportunities here are endless, and the American Dream is alive and well!

As a visitor here, you are part of a fantastic community. Nurses have always supported one another, and this is no different. We are not alone and it's important to encourage one another to take steps that will advance our careers.
