I'm Brennan Belliveau! A Registered Nurse originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For years I've always wondered what a career as a travel nurse could look like. I had every emotion in the world from excitement and curiosity to fear of the unknown. I had worked in a number of settings including pediatric heart, liver, and multivisceral transplant care, pediatric psychiatry, pediatric orthopedic rehabilitation, intensive care forensics psychiatry, community forensics psychiatry, and even long-term care. I often asked other nurses that I worked with "If you could go back in your career and do one thing different what would you do?" The most common reply to that question was "I wish I would have done travel nursing in the USA." At that point I knew what I had to do next. And so this journey began...
I started this blog to share not only my personal experiences, but to also offer a platform for other nursing students, nurses, travel nurses, and health care professionals to share their adventures, advice, and insight to help our community have the most successful and fulfilling career possible.
As a visitor here, you are part of a fantastic community. Nurses have always supported one another, and this is no different. We are not alone and it's important to encourage one another to take steps that will advance our careers. Here you will find information to support you as a student nurse, new graduate, experienced nurse, or a nurse considering travel nursing not only in the USA, but all across the world in countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the UK. Every week I'll be posting new blog pieces sharing the stories and advice from nursing and health care professionals, information to support our travel nurse communities such as posts on agencies, housing, and how to work in other countries, steps on how to become a travel nurse, health and wellness information, step-by-step interview and resume advice, NCLEX tips and advice, and just about anything you'll need to know for your career as a nurse!
Thank you so much for being part of this community. There are plenty of ways that you can become more involved. Please feel free to send me a message or email, follow me on Instagram, and if you have any advice to share, requests for posts that would be helpful to you, or if want to be featured I would love to share your story too!
